Guiding Students Towards Responsible Academic Choices: Class IX PTM and Counseling Session

On 06 March 2026, St. Joseph's Convent Hr. Sec. School, Khandwa organized a Parent–Teacher Meeting (PTM) along with a counseling session for the students of Class IX and their parents. The session was conducted with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of regular schooling, consistent academic engagement, and making informed decisions regarding future educational pathways.

In recent years, there has been a noticeable trend where some students opt to take Transfer Certificates (TC) from their schools in order to pursue dummy school admissions while preparing for competitive examinations such as JEE, NEET, and other entrance tests. Understanding the concerns of parents and the pressures faced by students, the school arranged this session to provide guidance and clarity on the subject.

During the interaction, the school emphasized that regular schooling plays a crucial role in building strong academic foundations, discipline, time management skills, and overall personality development. Teachers highlighted that the school environment provides students with continuous mentorship, peer learning opportunities, co-curricular exposure, and value-based education, all of which are essential for holistic growth.

To make the session more impactful, the school showcased inspiring video clips of former students who are currently studying in reputed colleges or serving in distinguished professional positions. Through their messages, the alumni shared how regular school attendance, active participation in school activities, and the guidance of teachers helped them shape their academic journeys and achieve success.

The testimonials from these alumni provided real-life perspectives for both students and parents, reinforcing the idea that a balanced approach to education often leads to better long-term outcomes.

The session also encouraged open discussion between parents, teachers, and students, allowing them to address doubts, share concerns, and explore the best academic options for the future. Such interactions help strengthen the collaboration between school and parents in supporting students’ educational journeys.

Through initiatives like these, St. Joseph's Convent Hr. Sec. School, Khandwa continues to remain committed to guiding students with the right values, academic discipline, and informed decisionmaking, ensuring that they grow into confident and responsible individuals prepared for the challenges of the future.
